I don't remember them truly overlapping like that? I remember him being one, and then the other. (Was there even a stray "Will Oldham" record in there...?) But I am, of course, shot through with memory holes at this point

No you recall correctly. I think the last Palace record was “Arise Therefore” and the rando WO record was Joya. I guess what I mean is that the Palace/Will Oldham output felt like the main thing, and it wasn’t until I around “Master and Everyone” that I realized he was taking the new persona and running with it. (There was some overlap between BPB and some WO eps i think)
